6th Festival of Our Happy-Last-Days – 21st–24th June
Free festival from the Celebration of Music to Midsummer Night
It was in June 2005 when we first organized the traditionally 4-day-long free festival from the Celebration of Music to Midsummer Night. Thanks to the high popularity and the professional support the event has by now gradually integrated itself into the cultural life of the capital’s summer. Jazz, alternative rock, acoustic music, folk and world music is on offer this time, compounded with contemporary dance performances, giving the narrow section of the annual program of Gödör Klub. The thematic days follow the nature of the programs of the year, also including the terrace of Gödör Klub into the system.
21st June (Monday) – Celebration of Music
16.00: 20 musicians with one instrument:
Said Tichiti, Zsolt Őz, Mihály Víg, Kaláka Trio (Dániel Gryllus-Gábor Becze-Balázs Radványi), Jamie Winchester, David Yengibarjan, Róbert Bérczesi, Ádám Dévényi, János Másik, Mari Nyeső, Frenk, Mókus Edina Szirtes, Miklós Both, János Kardos Horváth, Zoltán Nemes, Jenő Fekete, István Szilvási and Antal Kovács.
We tribute to the Celebration of Music with a special program this year: Artists who are regularly performing in the club during the year and who are among the friends of Gödör Klub and Cultural Association for Gödör Klub will be performing on stage. From 4pm till night we can listen to the instrumental performance of these exceptional artists representing different genres of the Hungarian music scene.
22.00: Andrea Ladányi and Gergely Borlai: BL (contemporary multimedia musical dance performance)
In between the concert we can see a completely new performance where Andrea Ladányi will respond with body language to the percussion improvisations of Gergő Borlai. We will see and hear a conversation during their performance which is unique even in the genre, but here the music and dance is in counterpoint with the releasing of expected men-women contrast. Wonderful light painted background will make the almost perfect performance even better.
23.00: Pál Utcai Fiúk (The Paul Street Boys) concert with guests: János Kardos Horváth, Róbert Bérczesi, Mihály Víg, Frenk, Ogi Peter
We haven’t had the Boys in Gödör Klub since January, this concert will be a worthy closing of the Celebration for Music in a special set up, we will be able to see and hear them together with several other guest artists.

Later we will see the choreography of Péter Gerzson Kovács showing the music history scales of contemporary dance and music, folk dance and music. Later come the concerts of the never missing performers of the festival: János Másik and the ColorStar.
24th June (Thursday) Midsummer Night
19.00: Marton Juhasz Group feat. Alan Benzie (USA), Váczi Eszter Quartet, Dresch Quartet, Triton
The young jazz drummer Márton Juhász will launch the evening in a jazz formation together with the Scottish guitarist, Alan Benzie, who won the “young artist of the year” award among others and with several other jazz musicians from Berklee School from Boston. Don’t be surprised, if the name Eszter Váczi Quaret is familiar to you, Eszter is an outstanding member of the Hungarian jazz and pop music scene and the members of her band have also appeared in different other formations together or separate. Dresch is the Hungarian saxophonist who bases his music entirely on the national folk heritage. In a sometimes direct sometimes less direct way – it can even change within one composition – the use of the Hungarian folk elements is not only true for the so called main themes but Dresch’s improvisations are also following the tunes and patterns of the Hungarian folk music. In addition to this comes the dynamics recalling the freshness of the authentic countryside dance music and the exceptional musical professionalism of Dresch and his band. Triton, the band of János Vázsonyi will close the event.
Entry is free for all programs of the festival!
